I was interested to see Hannastown Golf Club again since playing there U.S. Kids Golf & Junior Tri-State PGA events 2+ years ago. I knew the tees would be much farther back! 🙂

I remembered the course well and I felt confident playing in a field with such familiar players. The first day I struggled to make putts and my approach shots weren’t as accurate as they typically are. I shot an 81, which placed me 3rd (2 shots out of 2nd and 6 shots out of first). I knew that I’d play better the second day and I was eager to move up to at least second place, but getting to first would be quite challenging.

I started the day solid and I maintained really good play. I left some shots out there on the front nine by leaving a few putts short, but I made two birdies on the back. I moved closer and closer to taking the lead on each hole, and on hole 12 I was T1. I fell back a shot, went back to even, and fell back one again. It was hole 18 and I was one stroke from tying for first. A par or better was practically the only way that I had a shot. I hit a drive in the left rough, played a hybrid over the trees, and chipped to about 12 feet.  The adrenaline kicked in after I sunk my putt and my opponent made a bogey. I knew it was my time to win the playoff.

We both made pars on the first hole, and I made par on the second hole while she made a bogey. I was very proud of myself for making a huge comeback and playing a great round on day 2.
