Before my first Tri-State Junior PGA event of the year I was a little concerned with the limited time (20 minutes) that was given to warmup. There was no range, however, so all of my time was spent putting. My step-dad assured me that all players had the same rules to follow and that I am typically a golfer who doesn’t need a lengthy warmup to start playing.
I began the round with a par on the first hole. I struggled a lot with my putting although my ball striking was great. After the round I reflected and think that as a result of my putting weak putting, I felt pressured to hit my approach shots close which made me too aggressive with my lines on some holes, leading to missed greens and a few sand shots.
Disappointed that I didn’t play my best round, I was thankful to have met some new golf friends and I placed second. This day also influenced me switch over to my new Edel putter!
