Having never seen Diamond Run before, I looked up a course map on the ride down. It seemed to be pretty open and I heard the greens were firm and fast. With these things in mind, I prepared myself for a great round and was excited to try out my new Edel putter for the first time in a tournament!

Given that I only had 20 minutes to warmup, I remained focused and efficiently prepared for my round. I got off to a not-so-great start; I was +3 through 5 holes. I know how important a positive mindset is, so I began to see myself taking more risks and being less tentative. For the remaining 4 holes, I made 3 pars and a birdie.

I continued my success and made 3 more birdies on the back nine! I played very well and I was happy that even with a rough start I shot -2 for my last 13 holes. I won (by 6 strokes) which meant that I would be entered into the Player of the Year Tournament at Pittsburgh Field Club.

P.S. This was one of very few rounds in which I had to carry my bag instead of using a push cart!
