My sophomore golf season has gotten off to a great start. My team traveled to State College, Hermitage, and Canton, OH and I took second, first, and fourth and my team finished first, fourth, and fourth.

We started our season at the Penn State White Course, and I was very excited to play since I had played the blue course in tournaments over the summer. It was very wet, which made the course even longer, and we played the gold tees at over 5600 yards. I didn’t play badly, but I didn’t play great either. It was a tough day for everybody but I was happy because I took 2nd place individually with an 82 and my team finished first!!

The next day we played in Hermitage, PA at the VFW Golf Course. I played here last year in the annual tournament and shot an 83 and took 7th individually. I knew this year I could play much better and set a goal of placing in the top two. I played well and was under par after my first few holes! I shot a 76 and tied for first individual out of 50+ players! My team took fourth.

On our third round in three days, we played at Skyland Pines in Canton, Ohio. It was raining at first but slowed and stopped early, and the weather was fine for the rest of the round. I was playing with a junior and a senior, but I beat them both! I had a solid round of 78 and took 4th place individually out of over 100 girls! My team took fourth place as well, and we were happy since there were almost 20 teams!

All in all these tournaments were great for me individually and for my team! I can’t wait to see how we place in future tournaments.
