Every year I look forward to playing in the Dr. Charles Cuden Memorial Tournament at Green Oaks CC. It’s nice to think about others who shared the love for the game that I am also so passionate about. Last year, the tournament was changed to counting just 9 holes due to a storm, however, I was a few under on the back after just 7 holes… I didn’t get the win that I had wanted, so this year I had my mind set on earning first place.
The round started off well with a birdie on my 3rd, 5th, and 6th hole (I started on the back). My drives were straight and my approach shots were accurate.
After I made the turn I went +3 in 2 holes, but then birdied the next hole. I finished the day shooting 77, which put me T1. Because of new COVID-19 restrictions, the winner was determined through a scorecard playoff, and, fortunately for me, I won! It was a good day of golf and it felt great to do what I wanted to do last year.
